Shirley Totty
Mrs. Shirley Modene Totty, age 88, of Hickman, Ky., passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, June 1, 2026.
Born on Dec. 31, 1937, in St. Louis, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Almus Mitchum and Carrie Della Watson Mitchum.
Mrs. Totty was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to her family. In her leisure time, she enjoyed following NASCAR racing, watching her favorite soap operas and spending time in the comfort of her home.
She is survived by her son, Charles “Chuck” Totty Jr. (Wanda) of Union City; her grandchildren, Brandy Goodrich of Paducah, Ky., Jamie Goodrich of Hickman, Ky., Kandi Dial (Brandon) of Union City, Brandon Totty (Liz) of Huntingdon, Carrie Knight (Kenneth) of Dresden and Jon Phillips of Dresden.
She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Keegan Goodrich of Paducah, Ky., Damyen Goodrich of Arlington, Ky., Thorne Massey of Murray, Ky., Hailey Green of Obion, Emberly Blasingim of Union City, Aubree Dial and Gage Dial, both of Union City, Zoe Totty of Nashville, Peyton Smith and Zayden Totty, both of Huntingdon, Cheyanne Daniels of Dresden, Brayden Knight and Hunter Knight both of Dresden, and Bailee, Chloe, Braxton and Paisley Phillips, all of Dresden.
Additional survivors include her great-great-grandchildren, Gabriella Hughes and Chandler Hughes of Obion and Bryer Sampson of Union City; and her sisters, Vickie Mitchum of New Orleans, La., and Linda Raymer of Troy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Totty; her daughters, Joy Totty and Jan Phipps; her sisters, Ann Sigmond and Deloma Mitchum; and her brothers, Terry Mitchum and Steve Mitchum.
Graveside services for Mrs. Totty will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Hickman City Cemetery. No visitation will be held at the funeral home. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery at the time of service.
