Barbara Turner

Barbara Buckley Turner, 74, of Covington passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at Union City Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on March 10, 1951, to the late Edward Gale and Vance Buckley.
A lifelong member of Elm Grove Methodist Church, Barbara dedicated her life to serving God, her family and others. Her gentle spirit inspired all who knew her. She cultivated beautiful flowers and gardens, cooked delicious meals and used her creative talents to bless those she loved.
As a widow to Ronnie Turner for 19 years, she channeled her energy into her children and granddaughters. She was devoted to helping and making life more beautiful for them. Known as Bebe, she taught her granddaughters the love of God, how to create and execute and how to serve others gracefully.
By example, she persevered through adversity with strength and dignity. She taught her family to find immense joy through simple pleasures.
She retired from the U.S. Postal service in 2016.
She is survived by her loving children, Michael (Hope) Turner and Amy (Lynn) Jenkins; her grandchildren, Neely, Mary Catherine, Mimi Vance, Caroline and Bertie; her brother, Jerry Buckley; and a sister-in-law, Laura Ellen Bostwick.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gale “Bucky” Buckley; and a sister in law, Jan Turner Buckley.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 17, at noon at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment in Covington Memorial Gardens. Friends may sign an online guestbook at www.covingtonfuneralhome.com.
