Joseph “Pat” Forrester

Joseph “Pat” Forrester, 69, passed peacefully in his sleep on August 27, 2026, at his home in Hermitage, TN.

Pat graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a degree in Computer Science and later retired from Direct INS, where he worked as a specialized AS400 programmer. His love for technology and his constant tinkering at home were only one facet of the man Pat Forrester was.

Those who knew him would tell you Pat was a man of few words, but he made up for it tenfold with the influence he had on those he cherished. He loved deeply, showed up unfailingly for his family, and offered them the gift of his hard-earned laughter and his quietly playful nature.

Pat found joy in the simple things: cheering on the Nashville Predators, taking wooded and lakeside walks with his pets, and quietly observing the world around him. His love for nature and animals was so central to who he was that, before his passing, he expressed a wish that, in lieu of flowers, family and friends would donate to their local animal shelter in his name.

Pat was preceded in death by his mother, Joy Forrester.

Pat’s loving memory will live on in the hearts of his cherished wife, Christina Forrester; his father, Robert Forrester; his brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Marsha Forrester; his sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and John Glass; his children of the heart, Michael and Bonnie Bentley and Shannon Bentley; his nephew, Hunter Forrester; his nieces, Heather and Katy; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Bentley and her husband, Isaac; and Victoria, Alexandria, Gavin, and Gabrielle Bentley.

Those he leaves behind are grateful for the light and consistent presence he brought to their lives and will miss him dearly.
