Jim Crawford Jr.
James “Jim” P. Crawford Jr. of Martin passed away peacefully at his home Friday, March 1, 2024.
Jim was born in Mayfield, Ky., and moved to Martin in 1997 as Chief Financial Officer of Volunteer General Hospital. He was a dedicated Christian that served in his church, Central Baptist-Martin. He had a love for Jesus and showered that love upon everyone he knew.
Having an accounting background, he served in the church ministry of Central Christian Academy by volunteering his knowledge in finance as well as providing a lunch service program along with his wife and others.
He is survived by his wife, Kim; two daughters, Leigh Dowdy Nichols (Justin) and Andrea Crawford, all of Martin; a stepdaughter, Miranda Norris Oliver (Andy) of Dresden; a stepson, Lance Norris (Ashley) of Martin; and six granddaughters, Hensleigh Dowdy, Audri Dowdy, Ava Dowdy, Drew Harper Oliver, Cate Norris and Lydia Norris.
A celebration of life service was held at Central Baptist Church, Martin, Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 2 p.m. Friends visited the family beginning at 12:30 p.m. until service time. The family requested, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Jim’s memory to Central Christian Academy.
White-Ranson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
