Ken Yates
Robert Kenneth “Ken” Yates Jr., 68, of Hornbeak passed away at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Graveside services were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, at Hornbeak City Cemetery. Pastor Russell Zik officiated.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ken was born May 11, 1958, in Tiptonville, son of the late Bob and Susan (Darnall) Yates. He served in the United States Army and enjoyed playing baseball, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers. Ken loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and brother.
He is survived by two sons, Russ Yates and wife, Kristin, of Union City and Robert Yates III and wife, Tamara, of Dyersburg; and four grandchildren, Connor Yates, Collin Yates and Chandler Yates, all of Union City, and Molina Yates of Dyersburg.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Yates and Glen Yates.
