Nannie Crittendon

Mrs. Nannie Lou Crittendon, 91, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at her home in Martin. Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bible Union Baptist Church in Martin with Rev. Keith Sumner officiating. Burial followed in Bible Union Cemetery with Murphy Funeral Home of Martin in charge of the arrangements. Family served as pallbearers. Mrs. Crittendon retired after 35 years at Baybee Shoe Company then spent several years working at Weakley County Nursing Home. She was a member of Bible Union Baptist Church in Martin. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Ronald) Plunk and Bonnie Wiseman, both of Martin; one sister, Shirley Rush of Martin; three grandchildren, Johnny Plunk, Jason (Michelle) Plunk and Honey Jo (Wendell) Teague; six great-grandchildren, Devan (Hannah) Raymer, Elizabeth Plunk, Emily Plunk, Abigale Plunk, Jake Cantrell and Sarah Plunk; and one great-great-grandson, Jack Raymer.Mrs. Crittendon was preceded in death by her husband, Alpheus “Bud” Crittendon; her parents, Golsby Gatewood and Juanita Sadler Gatewood; four brothers, Bobby Gatewood, Jimmy Gatewood, Billy Gatewood and Gene Gatewood; and one grandson, Nathan Plunk.
