Mike Morris

Morton Lee Morris, “Mike,” 81, of Union City was welcomed home into the arms of his Lord and Savior, and reunited with the love of his life, Ann, on Sept. 24, 2023, at 10:30 p.m. at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Mike was born in Fulton, Ky., Jan. 8, 1942, as the oldest of eight children. He joined the Marines when he was 17. After his duty to our country, he had a successful carpet laying business in the San Francisco Bay area. He then moved to Tennessee, where he remained until his death.

Mike is survived by his children, Ann Dean of Amelia Island, Fla., Mandy Hinson (Brent) of Union City and Michael Kolby Morris (Sarah) of South Point, Ohio; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Morris; his son, Tim Morris; his brothers, David Morris, Bobby Morris, Roy Morris and Doug Crowder; and his parents, Eddie Lee and Nell Blaylock Morris.

Throughout his life, Mike always had a smile on his face and was willing to do anything to help the people he loved.

A memorial service will be held at Crosswind Church in Union City, where he attended, on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 4 p.m. A visitation will be held prior to the service at Crosswind Church beginning at 2 p.m.
