Cathy Sampson
Catherine “Cathy” Sampson, 67, of Hornbeak passed away 9:30 p.m. Aug. 28, 2023, at her home.
Ms. Sampson chose to donate her body to the Genesis Program.
A celebration of life service and balloon release will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at Hornbeak City Park.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Cathy was born May 19, 1956, in Altoona, Pa., daughter of the late Thomas P. Ewig and the late Catherine C. Ringler.
Cathy had served in the United States Air Force and was retired from the Tennessee National Guard. She had been employed as an LPN at Northwest Correctional Facility near Tiptonville.
She is survived by two daughters, Cristina Sampson of Elbridge and Tawana Jackson and her husband, James, of Hornbeak; one son, Johnathan Sampson and his wife, Regina, of Bartlett; one sister, Beth Ann Ewig of Baltimore, Md.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Ewig.
