Upon leaving Clinton High School, he entered the U.S. Air Force. Stationed in Plattsburg, N.Y., he served as a Munitions System Specialist from 1955-59 during the Suez Canal Crisis. Following active duty, Larry was enlisted in the Air Force Reserves for an additional two years.

Moving his family to the Woodland Mills area, he lived the next 50 years in the same home. While at Goodyear, Larry became certified in many areas working in the maintenance department.
Larry was a Christian and a member of Woodland Mills First Baptist Church. Coming from a family of talented artists and singers, Larry used his wonderful voice to serve the Lord in the choir for many years.
In addition to hunting and fishing, he loved motorcycles. He enjoyed several long trips with family members and rode up into his senior years.
Mr. Scott was born on Feb. 1, 1937, in the Harmony, Ky., community to the late James Hiram and Georgia Pauline (Pean) Polsgrove Scott. On Dec. 6, 1955, he married Faye Arrington. She survives.
