HEART-STOPPING LETTER — Raynelle Turpin (Maria Sweatt) reads a letter to her husband, Bud Turpin (Jay Jackson), that stops him cold, as in dead cold, as he sat at the breakfast table in Masquerade Theatre’s production of “Dearly Departed, A Drop Dead Funny Comedy.” The show — being staged at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Union City this Friday and Saturday and Aug. 11-12 at 7 p.m. and this Sunday and Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. — follows the Turpin family as they make preparations to bury Bud. Tickets are $10 and are on sale at the Obion County Public Library during normal business hours. Any unsold tickets will be available at the door 30 minutes before showtime. This production is rated PG.
