James Burress
James Nathan Burress, 76, of Union City passed away 7:02 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Graveside services were conducted 4 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Obion. Brother Eric Burress officiated.
Pallbearers were Tyler Burress, Kody Burress, Shea Burress, Daniel Burress, Kaleb Burress, Calvin Martin and Trevor Blythe.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
James was born Oct. 26, 1946, in Pemiscot County, Mo., son of the late James Otis and Mary Lucille (Barbee) Burress.
He was a retired truck driver at the former Reelfoot Packing Company. James enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by two daughters, Tammy McNeal and husband, Chris, of Troy and Tina Craig of Union City; three sons, Eric Burress and wife, Mariah, of Troy, Chris Burress and wife, Brandy, of Dickson and Mark Burress and wife, Camelia, of Union City; 15 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mitzi Martin; four sisters, Shelia Smith, Shirley Riddle, Janette Lovell and Rhonda Tucker; and one brother, David Burress.
