Rodney Reed

Rodney Dale Reed, 62, of Tiptonville passed away 6:10 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday at Samburg Assembly of God. Brother Jacky Goad officiated. Burial followed in Graves Chapel Cemetery near Troy.
Visitation was held at Samburg Assembly of God from 5-8 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.
Pallbearers were Hunter Smith, Chase Ainsworth, Blake Smith, Drake Smith, Justin Smith and Martin “Slick” Hopper.
Honorary pallbearer was Kyle Homra.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Rodney was born Aug. 18, 1960, in Tiptonville, son of the late Ollie B. and Peggy (Hutchcraft) Reed. He married Alisa (Ray) Reed June 1, 1991. She survives. Rodney had been employed as a roofer and carpenter. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He is also survived by two sons, Timbo Smith (Amanda) of Samburg and Jeremey Smith (Heidi Tippy) of the Shawtown community; one daughter, Brandi “Sissi” Smith of Tiptonville; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Chandler Smith; and two sisters, Sherry Harper and Vicki Reed.
