Visitation was held from noon until 2 p.m. at White-Ranson Funeral Home on Sunday, April 2, 2023, with a graveside service immediately following at Eastview Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller was born in Weakley County on Jan. 14, 1935. She married Claud Vernon Miller on Aug. 14, 1953, and immensely enjoyed traveling with him during his military service before settling down to have a family. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2014.
She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Merlin Cohen for 23 years and fondly remembered many of her patients. Mrs. Miller was a member of First Methodist Church of Union City.
Although she had been in failing health since 1996, she remained one of the most positive people you can imagine by remaining strong in her faith and family happily loving each day God gave her.
She is survived by two daughters, Claudette Abernathy and her husband, Randy, of Knoxville and Anne Reeves and her husband, Barry Reeves, of Union City; three grandchildren, Shane Abernathy and his wife, Kaley, of Knoxville, Ashley Overwyk and her husband, Ben, of Oak Ridge, N.C., and Adam Reeves and his wife, Melissa Reeves, of Union City. She also leaves six great-grandchildren, Hudson Reeves, Griffin Reeves, Georgia Overwyk, Cooper Overwyk, Finn Abernathy and Wylie Abernathy.
Mrs. Miller was also preceded in death by her loving parents, Alvis and Zeda Harper; her biological mother, Audrey Mansfield Harper; and her biological father, Carlos Harper.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Methodist Church, Union City, Tenn.; Parkinson’s Foundation (Parkinson.org); Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org); or the charity of your choice.
