David Byars Sr.

David Lee Byars Sr., 68, of Union City passed away 3:40 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Justin Beard will officiate. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Byars, Frankie Molands, Cody Harris, John Harris, James Cox and Logan Eaves.
David was born Oct. 28, 1954, in Plymouth, Mich., son of the late Ralph and Doris Helen (Jimmerson) Byars. He married Carol (Scherffius) Byars May 28, 1977. She survives.
David retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 35 years of service where he was a union steward. David was of the Baptist faith.
He is also survived by two sons, David Lee Byars Jr. of Mobile, Ala., and Travis Ross Byars (Brittney) of Blue Ridge, Ga.; and three grandchildren, Shelby Byars, Olivia Byars and Cameron Byars, all of Blue Ridge.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Janice Elizabeth Byars, Cathy Reynolds and Beverly Molands; and four brothers, Ralph Edward Byars, Rick Byars, Stewart Byars and Steve Byars.
