Mrs. Freda McWherter McDaniel Willis, age 82, of Martin died Friday, Aug. 27, 2021 at Van Ayer Manor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Martin. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin with Marcine Cook officiating. Burial followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sharon. She was retired from the University of Tennessee at Martin as a bookkeeper and a Baptist. Mrs. Willis is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Ray) Barner of Martin; her son, Steve McDaniel of Caruthersville, Missouri; her four grandchildren, Justin (Jill) Bell, Leanna (Brandon) Stephenson, Alivia (Claude) Joes, and Abby McDaniel; seven great-grandchildren, Avery Bell, Ashlyn Bell, Anna Laura Bell, Blaine Joes, Carter Stephenson, Cooper Stephenson and Britton Joes; special grandson, Tyler Crawford; and her sister, Zela Wallace of Jackson. She was the widow of James Franklin McDaniel; and was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Nancy Myrtle Kingston McWherter; her siblings, Seldon Jackson McWherter, Doyle I.
