Barbara Rieger

Barbara Bickley Rieger passed from this life Dec. 18, 2025, in Maryville. She was born March 19, 1926, in Newark, N.J., the daughter of Helen and Frederick Bickley, and the sister of Betty Troutman.
Bobbie had a full life, she graduated from Columbia High School in Newark, and from Lassel Junior College in Newton, Mass. She and Bert started their married life in Troy, N.Y., where Bert was a student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. At the time she was a medical technician, a job she loved. As she aged and became the patient, she carefully watched medical technicians as they drew her blood. During the course of their marriage, they lived in New Jersey, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and South Carolina. They returned to Maryville in 2011 to be near family.
With each move Bobbie quickly made friends. She enjoyed entertaining, and playing tennis, golf and bridge. Together, Bobbie and Bert enjoyed traveling and ball room dancing. They had five children Ellen Green and husband, Larry, and children, MaryBeth Pierce, Brian Green and Leslie Blick; Kenneth Alan Rieger and wife, Rozanne Daniel, and children, Sarah Hinton and Jason Craig; Douglas Frederick Rieger and wife, Gail Hair, and children, Alexander Rieger and Katherine Rieger; Robert Bruce Rieger and wife, Karen Hartlaub, and children, Daniel Rieger, Jennifer Warwick and Mitchell Rieger; and William Albert Rieger, and wife, Lynn McKnight, and children, Lauren Mott, Mary Clement and William Rieger. She had nine great-grandchildren.
In her final years, she continued to make friends, playing Bridge and Bingo at Brookdale Sandy Springs in Maryville.
Many thanks to the staff of Brookdale Sandy Springs for the love, caring and friendship they shared with her. www.mccammonammonsclick.com.
