Jeffrey Isbell
Jeffrey Thomas Isbell, age 55, of Union City passed away on Sept. 20, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Bro. Tommy Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday beginning at 11 a.m. and run until the time of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Eric Pinion, Chris Dew, Cory Perry, Mark Bratton, Lanny Warren and Dustin Riley. Mike Mathenia will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Jeffrey was born on Dec. 10, 1970, in Livonia, Mich., and later made his home in Union City. He was a class of 1989 graduate of Obion County Central High School. He was a former truck driver who spent many years on the road working hard and providing for those he loved.
Jeffrey faced his battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) with courage and strength. Although the disease brought many challenges, it could never diminish the love he had for his family or the love they had for him. Throughout his journey, he was surrounded and supported by those closest to him. His strength and the love shared by his family will forever remain part of his legacy.
Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife, Martha (Cleek) Isbell; his mother, Darlene (Warren) Satterfield of Union City; his brother, Mark Isbell of Union City; his bonus children, Miranda Matheny of Union City and Garrett (McCall) Matheny of Union City; and his beloved grandchildren, Neyland Tyler, Teagan Matheny and Colt Matheny.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Isbell; his stepfather, David Satterfield; his beloved grandson, Knox Matheny; and his grandparents, Walter and Wanda Warren and Roy and Naomi Isbell.
Jeffrey’s greatest legacy will be the love he shared with his family. In his final moments, he was surrounded by those who loved him most. Although his absence leaves a space that can never be filled, the memories and love shared with Jeffrey will remain in the hearts of his family and friends for years to come.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Jeffrey’s honor to an ALS organization or foundation to support individuals and families affected by ALS and the continued search for treatments and a cure.
