Raymond Forsythe

Mr. Raymond Samuel “Jiggy” Forsythe, 97, a resident of Union City, died March 3, 2024, at the Obion County Nursing Home.
The family was to have visitation from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, followed by graveside services at 3 p.m. at Hickman (Ky.) City Cemetery. Bro. Jason Sipes was to officiate.
Pallbearers were Larry Langford, Tim Langford, David Black, Jim Major, Joey Parker and Johnson Linder. 
Mr. Forsythe was born on Nov. 2, 1926, in Hickman, Ky., to the late Samuel Washington and Lovie Ann (Davis) Forsythe. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He worked as a truck driver for Stokes Oil Company. On Dec. 20, 1949, he married the former Rosie Lee Andrews. She survives. He taught Sunday School and served as a Sunday School Superintendent for many years and was a member of West Hickman Baptist Church.

He is also survived by a daughter, Mary Lisa Stewart of Union City; nieces, Glenda Langford and Gail Black, both of Hickman; nephews, Tim Langford and Larry Langford, both of Hickman; and Bill Forsythe of Tampa, Fla.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Roy S. Forsythe, Glenn Forsythe and Billy Joe Forsythe; sister; Edna Eileen Forsythe; and son-in-law, Ronnie Lee Stewart.
