Joe E. Speight
Mr. Joe E. Speight, age 82, of South Fulton passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
He was born on Oct. 27, 1941, in Paris, Tenn., to the late John E. Speight and Margie Taylor Speight.
Joe was a member of South Fulton Baptist Church and had retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, where he worked in the maintenance department for 34 years. He was a Mason in the Union City Lodge No. 538 for over 50 years. He loved gardening, yard work, deer hunting, golfing and his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Speight, whom he married Aug. 4, 1961; a son, Randall J. (Kelly) Speight of Evans, Ga.; a daughter, Kimberly Ann (David) McKinney of Macon, Ga.; his grandchildren, Tanner Speight, Jessica (Cassidy) Usry and Emily Green, all of Evans, Ga., Brandon, Tyler and Hunter McKinney, all of Macon, Ga.; and a sister, Ann Oliver of Paris, Tenn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Don Speight.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, in Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in the Walker Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, with a Masonic service to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.
