Garry Guertin Sr.
Mr. Garry Joseph Guertin Sr., age 76, of Hickman, Ky., passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, at his residence.
He was born on June 8, 1947, in Fulton, N.Y., to the late Joseph Guertin and Helen Louise Guernsey Clothier Guertin.
Garry was a member of East Hickman Baptist Church, where he was a song leader for several years. He was also a United States Navy veteran, where he served in Vietnam. Garry was a truck driver instructor and moved to Hickman in 1991. He was the owner and operator of the former Wes’s Barbecue Restaurant.
He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Lee Guertin of Hickman; his children, Carrie Jo Matzen of Hick-man, Garry Joseph Guertin Jr of Litchfield Park, Ariz., and Kennith Isaac Guertin of Sunset Beach, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Gayland Darling of Hick-man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Kimball.
There will be no services.
Hornbeak Funeral Chapel-Hickman is in charge of cremation arrangements.
