Photo essay on display in county courthouse

Longtime resident and native son Robert Nunley has a photo essay up in the county courthouse as part of the Weakley County Bicentennial Celebration. The pictures are proudly displayed in the courthouse and can be visited for free anytime the courthouse is open. Below is a statement from the artist:
“As a native son of Weakley County and member of the Weakley County Reconciliation Project (WCRP), I an honored to share a small portion of the hundreds of photos that I have taken over the past several years. My father R. C. Nunley was a proud resident of Weakley County. Needless to say when one has such a vast collection of photos, it’s impossible to pick the best and most memorable images.
So please accept my apologies (up front) for any oversight or omission of what you might see as a weakness of the exhibition. As the title suggests, these images are representative of a small portion of our vast collective history. Some of these memories are painful and not representative of the progress we’ve made in the recent past. However, we are hopeful that most viewers will find reason to smile and build on the hope for a better future. As we make Weakley County a beacon for how we implement the Golden Rule of doing unto others as we would have them do unto us.”
