John Morris
John R. Morris, age 90, of Hickory, Ky., formerly of Union City, passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, at Stone Creek Health and Rehab in Mayfield, Ky.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fremont Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends beginning at noon Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, and until the time of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Morris was born in Union City on April 8, 1933, to the late Albert Thomas Morris and the late Gladys Smith Morris. He was married to Mrs. Virginia Lee Patillo Morris. She preceded him in death on June 8, 2014.
He retired from Coca-Cola after 22 years in St. Louis. Upon retirement, he moved back to Union City.
He is survived by his daughter, Sabra Ann Penrod and her husband, Michael, of Forrestdale, Mo.; three sons, Ronald Morris and his wife, Donna, Donald Morris and his wife, Peggy Sue, and Stephen Wayne Morris, all of Hickory, Ky.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Morris was preceded in death by one grandson, Matthew Penrod.
