Ruby Barnes

Mrs. Ruby Louise Barnes, age 96, died Monday, October 23, 2023, at the home of her daughter in Martin. Her wishes were to be cremated. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Barnes; her son, James Barnes; parents, John Johnsrud and Martha Koltviet Johnsrud; her son-in-law, Curtis Mayhood; seven siblings. Mrs. Barnes was a retired legal secretary for a law firm in Houston, Texas. She was of the Lutheran faith. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah (John) Stich of Amarillo, TX and Karen Mayhood of Martin; two grandchildren, Heather (Russell) McCown and Briar Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Sterling Johnson, Audrey McCown and John Raleigh McCown. Memorials requested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or to the charity of choice.
