Teddy Ladd
Horace Teddy Ladd, 80, a resident of Union City, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.Funeral services will be held noon Friday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in the Crystal community, with Brother Steve Carr and Brother Jack Henry to officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Friday at the church.Pallbearers will be Gary Hagan, Elvest Cook, Brady Ladd, Cody Quinn, Millard Hayes, Cayden Puckett, Bobby Johnson and Cody Spaulding.Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Hoffman, Bill Hutchison, Danny Sweeny, Arthur Bond, Harold Hooten and Ron Jackson.White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Mr. Ladd was born on July 30, 1943, in Fulton to the late George Horace Ladd and Bessie (Pafford) Ladd. He married Phyllis (Hooten) Ladd on Aug. 26, 1967. She survives.He was a member and deacon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church and served as President of the Mt. Olive Cemetery Association for over 25 years. He was a livestock Black Angus Cattle producer of many years and a member of the Army National Guard. Mr. Ladd retired from the former Brown Shoe Company after 30 years of service, retired from the Tennessee Department of Correction after 25 years of service and was also employed at Discovery Park of America in Union City.He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Ladd of Union City; a son, Steve Ladd, and his wife, Michelle, of Union City; his daughter, Lisa Isbell, and her husband, Todd, of Union City; four grandchildren, Shelby Quinn and her husband, Cody, Kacee Isbell, Kinley Isbell and Brady Ladd; three great-grandchildren, Bryer Quinn, Oliver Quinn and Iyler Quinn; and two sisters, Ruby Brockett of Camden and Betty Knisley of Union City.He was also preceded in death by a sister, Estelle Ladd.Condolences may be sent to the family at the funeral home website: www.white-ranson.com.
