Harold Norrid

Harold Ross Norrid, age 67, of Friendship passed away at his home, surrounded by loved ones, on Aug. 23, 2023.
A memorial service was held 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023, at White-Mahon Funeral Home, with Will Norrid officiating. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
He was born on Feb. 25, 1956, in Union City to the late Harold Joe Norrid and Patsy Huie Norrid. He leaves behind his wife, Judy Cornatzor Norrid, who loved and cared for him, especially the last few years of his earthly life.
He was an avid hunter who enjoyed spending time welding together grills and working on his tractors and deer stands.
Mr. Norrid worked pipeline construction for many years before working at and retiring from Forked Deere Electric Company. He was blessed with so many wonderful friends, both old and new. They were faithful and generous till the end.
He was the oldest sibling of four. Jack Norrid (Vickie) of Alamo, Paula Roberson of Dyersburg and Ben Norrid of Friendship all remain. Ross is also survived by three daughters, Callye Moran (Richard) and Hilary Norrid, both of Union City, and Merany Gantt (Clint) of Troy. He had three stepchildren, Tessa Young, Leigh Ann Hay (Shane) and Preston Young, all of Friendship. He was a proud grandfather to Gracie, Reid and Drew Norsworthy of Union City, Camden Gantt of Troy, Katie Holland (Shawn) of Ripley, Ethan Parker of Jackson and Emi and Eli Young and Sam Lindsey, all of Friendship. In addition to having six great-grandchildren, he was also the uncle to several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Joe Norrid and Patsy Huie Norrid, formerly of Troy.
