Chuck Stone
Charles “Chuck” Stone, age 91, of Union City passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, at his home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, in Obion County Memorial Gardens, with Bro. Melvin Poe officiating.
Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Mr. Stone was born April 15, 1932, to the late Crest City Stone and the late Ida Mae Clark Stone. He was married to Juanita Burress Stone for 68 years. She survives.
He was a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as a firefighter, for Buddy’s Wrecker Service, for Obion County General Hospital of Union City as an EMT and for Union City Napa Auto Parts.
Mr. Stone was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and attended school at Walnut Grove and in California.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Stone is survived by two daughters, Penny Stone Alexander and Mary Stone, both of Union City; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Betty Maggard, Finis and Judy Burress, Nolie (Linda) Burress and Sara Burress; his half-brother, Ellis Stone; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Billy Stone, Ruby Crittendon, Ozell Roberts and Madelle Ezela; and two half-sisters, Mary Martin and Luella McTurner.
