Jack Moran

James “Jack” Moran, 85, of Union City passed away 11:15 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023, at AHC Union City.
Funeral services were to be conducted 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Eddie Mallonee was to officiate. Burial was to follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Obion.
Visitation was to be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of services today.
Pallbearers were to be Chucky Moran, Stevie Moran, Richard Moran, William Dalton Moran and Steve Cruce.
Jack was born Jan. 27, 1938, in Obion County, son of the late Roy and Maggie (Scott) Moran. He married Carrie (Vaughn) Moran in August 1954. She preceded him in death March 31, 2022.
Jack had been employed in maintenance at the former Brown Shoe Company for 32 years and was the retired owner and operator of Jack’s Plumbing Service. He was a member of the Union City Masonic Lodge, Western Sun Masonic Lodge in Troy and Tyre Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and was a Shriner. Jack was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Kim Moran of Union City; two grandsons and their spouses, Bruce and Valerie Dickson of Bloomington, Ind., and Bryce and Chelsea Moran of Union City; five great-grandchildren, Hudson Moran of Union City and Cole Dickson, Grady Dickson, Mackenzie Dickson and Kevin Cash Dickson, all of Bloomington; and his brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Mary Moran of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Donnie Moran; and two sisters, Libby Griffin and Mary Ruth Caruthers.
