Carnece Guy, age 77, of Troy passed away at her home on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023, at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Bro. Harrell Davidson officiating and William Matheny assisting. Burial followed in Terrace Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was held Saturday at 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Charlie Guy, Pete Matheny, Mardy Bell, Jody Knox, Aron Russell and Parker Stewart.
Mrs. Guy was born in Union City on Aug. 16, 1945, to the late Carney Johnson and the late Louise Treece Johnson. She married Johnny Guy on Aug. 27, 1966. He survives. She retired from the Obion County Sheriff’s Department in 2015 after 31 years of service and was a member of Hornbeak Church of Christ.
Mrs. Guy was well known around the county for her cooking. She loved her family deeply and attended any and all events that her grandchildren were involved in. Her granddaughters and great-granddaughter were the light of her life.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Guy is survived by two daughters, Lyndy Bell and her husband, Mardy, of Hornbeak and Cindy Knox and her husband, Jody, of Union City; grandchildren, Madison Russell and her husband, Aron, of Union City, McClain Bell of Nashville, McKinleigh Bell of Hornbeak and Isabella and Channing Knox of Union City; and one great-grandchild, Avryl James Russell of Union City.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in honor of Mrs. Guy to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
