Mother and child held at gunpoint during robbery in Martin

Story by Shannon Taylor Senior Investigative Reporter

Martin police are now investigating a robbery and assault at a home in Martin. On Monday, Dec. 12, Patrolman Grant Davis with Martin Police Department responded for a welfare check on Cleveland Street.

When Davis arrived on scene, the mother told Davis that she had just arrived home with her son when three black males broke into her home and held her and her child at gunpoint and began shouting at them.

The shouting woke up her boyfriend who ran into the bathroom. The three males then followed and one of them fired a single round into the bathroom before fleeing the scene out the backdoor.

The report states that two iPhones were stolen during the robbery, but one has since been recovered.

The report lists charges of aggravated assault and aggravated robbery if suspects are found and arrested, but no arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is still ongoing according to Martin PD.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call the Martin Police Department at 731-587-5355.

Those are some EXTREMELY brave, or ABSOLUTELY IGNORANT burglars, and I’m leaning heavily towards ignorant. Aren’t they aware that 15/16 of Tennesseeans are armed to the TEETH?! This luck won’t hold, they’re gonna find themselves on the wrong end of a gun barrel.
