UNEXPECTED VISITOR — Melvin and Tina Argo of the Whispering Hills subdivision on Old Lake Road have had an unexpected visitor over the last month. Mrs. Argo said the duck, which is a black-bellied whistling duck, was often seen in the front yard or on the roof of the house. This time, her husband discovered the duck sitting inside a hole in their tree this past Friday. She said they have found it odd that the duck has chosen their property to visit because they have no pond or water near their yard. Formerly uncommon in the Mississippi Flyway, in recent years there have been more sightings of the colorful duck in and around Obion County.
