SUSPECT FOUND
SUSPECT FOUND — Sophia, a bloodhound shown with her handler, Obion County sheriff’s Sgt. Tim Wright, is credited with tracking the suspect in Wednesday night’s stabbing of an Obion police officer. The deputy retrieved an article of the suspect’s clothing and used it as scent for the dog, which tracked from a residential area to an open field and then to a heavily wooded area. The dog found the suspect, 37-year-old Daniel Allen Butler of Obion (shown in the back of the patrol car), hiding under brush in the wooded area, authorities said. He was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder of a police officer and evading arrest. The injured Obion officer, Jamie Clark, is home recovering from facial wounds.
