SHAKEOUT SHELTER
SHAKEOUT SHELTER — Obion County Central High School sophomore Elana Mauldin found shelter inside an instrument cubby in the band room during the school’s participation in last Thursday’s Great Central U.S. ShakeOut earthquake drill — staged on 10/15 at 10:15 a.m. Participants throughout the nation were asked to review their emergency plans as they held earthquake drills in which they practiced the safety method to “Drop! Cover! Hold On!” Obion County Emergency Management Agency director Danny Carr coordinated local efforts and was on hand to observe the drill at OCCHS, where most students sheltered under desks or tables. Several other schools in the area also participated.
