SAFETY FIRST — July 28 is the official state observance of the Bullets Have No Eyes: Bringing Awareness Against Gun Violence organization, founded by Union City native Mamie Turner. The organization will hold a community street cleanup at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Casey Johnson Community Center, located at 101 E. College St. in Union City. Ms. Turner’s daughter, Mandi Scurry, and her granddaughter, Malayah, prepare a warning sign for the upcoming event.
