Dot Huggins

Dorothy “Dot” Huggins was born in Troy, Ala. She fell in love with Bill Huggins and they were married when she was 17 on May 29, 1949, in Andalusia, Ala. She immediately became a preacher’s wife.
Not long after their marriage, her mother passed away and Bill and Dot took on the responsibility of raising her baby sister, Sarah, 3, as their own child.
Over the years, she stood by and served with Bill in several southeastern states as they both touched the lives of many people.  She was a dedicated wife to her husband. They were married for 64 years before his passing.
From 1951-1962, Bill and Dot had four children of their own. She was a loving, sacrificial, devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Over many years she would serve as a church secretary. For the next 20 years, she was an admissions clerk at the Andalusia Regional Hospital until her retirement. She and Bill moved to Union City in February of 2009.
She is preceded in death by her parents, F.N. Campbell and Maxie Campbell of Troy, Ala.; eight siblings; her husband of 64 years, William S. “Bill” Huggins; two daughters, Anita “Gail” Wroten of Booneville, Miss., and Marilyn Corette Senter of Hot Springs, Ark.

Rory, Joanna Wroten, Brad Caldwell, Brian Senter, Major Jed Tennison, Beth Tidwell, Brittany Huggins, Brandi Huggins, Brooke Huggins, Blake Huggins, Beth Huggins and London Huggins; and 15 great-grandchildren.
