L.D. Brandon

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ebenezer Cemetery near Troy, with the Rev. Steve Carr and Dr. Bobby Williams officiating. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. today at White-Ranson Funeral Home.
The family requests that memorials be made to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
He was born Sept. 5, 1925, in Clay County, Ark., son of the late Manson Richard and Mary (Jennings) Brandon. He married the former Pearly Mai Long May 6, 1946. She died March 26, 2014.
He had been employed at the former Cultra Landscaping and the former P.V. Furniture and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in the Crystal community and was a Mason.
He is survived by two daughters and his son-in-law, Gwen and Johnny Hassell and Deborah Williams, all of Union City; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jonnie Brandon of Paris; two brothers, William Brandon of Obion and Klyce “Shorty” Brandon of Troy; seven grandchildren, Melissa Cunningham of Dukedom, Leslie Dean and Dena Lewis, both of Union City, Hope Sweatt of Martin, Michael Brandon of the Harris Station community, John Brandon of South Fulton and Kevin Hassell of Finley; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Jerry Brandon; his son-in-law, Gerald Williams; his grandson, Dennis Williams; and two brothers, Clarence Brandon and Melvin Brandon.
