Betty Bruner

Mrs. Betty Jean Bruner passed away May 6, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.
Mrs. Bruner was born Oct. 22, 1946, in Fulton County Ky., to the late W. Floyd Roberson and Iola Roberts Roberson.
Betty was a resident of the Ruthville Community, having lived most of her life in this area. Mrs. Bruner served as Secretary for the Weakly County Co-Op in Martin and a member of Ruthville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bruner was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Bruner, with whom she shared two children, Keven (Michelle) Bruner of Martin and Kelly (Mitzi) Bruner of Obion. Mrs. Bruner also leaves behind four grandchildren, Grace (Brant) Luker of Lexington, Tenn., Emma Bruner of Martin, Kaleb (Emmalee) Bruner of Troy and Adam (Emma Douglas) Bruner of Newbern. Betty’s surviving siblings are Sue (Bill) Stewart of Martin, Janice (Donnie) Lee of Sidonia, Juanita (Pete) Buchanan of Springville and Shirley Burnes of Paris, Tenn. 
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Lois Grissom.
Betty was a member of the Red Hat Society of Fulton and thoroughly enjoyed her family, friends and fellow church members, and her faithful K-9 Rudy, held a special place in her heart. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Services for Mrs. Betty Bruner will be held Saturday, May 9, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., with the funeral service to begin at 1 p.m.
Bro. Scott Williams and Bro. Lowell Riley will officiate. Interment to follow at Sandy Branch Cemetery.
