Dub Little

A celebration of life will be held at Troy United Methodist Church Friday at 11 a.m.
Walter was born Aug. 23, 1930, in Obion County. He was a proud grandson to Laura and Benjamin Franklin “Dude” Chappell; son to his mother and stepfather, Frank and Helen (Chappell) Hight, and his dad and stepmother, Dallas and Mildred Little; big brother to J.C. (Mamie) Little, Butch (Robbie) Little, and Judy (Jim) Patterson; father to his only little girl, Debbie (Dave) Biggar; and best grandfather of all time to Seth Woodham, Tyler (Megan) Woodham and Katelin (TJ) Ray. He was recently made a great-grandfather by Tyler and Megan to his namesake — Zane Walter Woodham — who completes and continues the family circle of life.
He graduated from the former Woodland Mills High School in 1949 and married the love of his life, Novella, that same year. They moved to Detroit and he worked at Ford Motor Company for 32 years. They returned to Tennessee in 1982 to retire on Kentucky Lake, where the fish were waiting. The home they built there was an oasis of adventure for their grandchildren. After they were grown, and the lake was empty, he and Novella moved to Troy in 2000, where he continued to golf and grow his garden.
Condolences may be sent to the family at the funeral home website: www.white-ranson.com.
