Luke Watkins

Born Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1924, in Camden, son of the late George Taylor Watkins and the late Nancy (Hedge) Watkins, he was a retired business owner and was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and AARP. Mr. Watkins proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Funeral services for Mr. Watkins will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Willingham Bapitst Church in Ridgely. Officiating this service will be the Rev. Carey Morris. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Visitation for Mr. Watkins will be this evening from 5:30-8 and Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Watkins, William Rivers, Shane Blair, Billy Goodlett, Josh Rivers and Gene Pope.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William Lee and Peggy Watkins of Ridgely and Larry Wayne and Cathy Watkins of Union City; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Watkins; his daughter, Nancy (Watkins) Blair; two sisters; and his brother.
