Mrs. Sarah was born May 2, 1925, in Nashville, daughter of the late David and Girthie (Taylor) Hood. She married Johnny Simmons Sept. 28, 1971. He passed away in 2008. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Elizabeth (Tortorici) Simmons of Hornbeak; two grandchildren, Jamie Lee Simmons of Kentucky and Anna Marie Simmons of Dyersburg; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Jade Watts of Dyersburg and Casey Jewel Simmons and Carter Lee Simmons, all of Kentucky.
She was also preceded in death by his sister.
