Thelma Houston

She was a retired supervisor for the former Troy Manufacturing and had served as a Pink Lady at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. Ms. Thelma was a member of Three Oaks Baptist Church, where she taught a Sunday school class and was a choir member. She was also a member of the Senior Circle.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Terrace Hill Cemetery in Troy.
The Houston family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Yoshida of Hilo, Hawaii, and Donnie Crisp of Cibolo, Texas; her son, Richard Houston of Vero Beach, Fla.; her brother, Ray Canada of Kansas; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Temple Samuel Houston; her daughter, Sandra Houston; her parents, Jasper and Gertrude (Pratt) Canada; and her grandchild.
