Bill Brewer
Mr. William H. “Bill” Brewer Jr., 73, of the Shawtown community passed away 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Zion Church of Christ in the Shawtown community. James Barnett and Tony Brewer will officiate. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and at Mt. Zion Church of Christ from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be John Kendall, Kelvin Kendall, Keith Kendall, Jason Cook, Jeff Cook, Trey Phipps, Richard Ragsdale, Brett Ragsdale and Ty Ragsdale.
The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Mt. Zion Church of Christ.
Mr. Brewer was born September 22, 1941, in Obion County, son of the late William Howard Brewer Sr. and the late Helen Louise (Duncan) Brewer. He married Betty (Kendall) Brewer May 25, 1959. She survives. Mr. Brewer retired as a computer programmer for the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after thirty three and a half years. He was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ and served in the military police with the United States Army.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mark McBride of Rives; his son and daughter-in-law, Tony and LaBeth Brewer of Memphis; two sisters, Janice Hooper of South Fulton and Grace Ann Barge of Greenfield; four grandchildren, Brittany Allen of the Clayton community, Dustin McBride of Union City and Anthony Brewer and Abigail Brewer, both of Memphis; and one great-grandson, Keegan McBride of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Mitchell Brewer.
