SHOWING GRATITUDE — Obion County native Karen Vaughn (left) shared an emotional moment with Sharon Regen at the Union City Rotary Club meeting Friday, where Mrs. Vaughn spoke about her son, Aaron, a Navy SEAL who was killed in Afghanistan in 2011. Mrs. Regen became close friends with the Vaughn family when Aaron was one of her students at Hillcrest Elementary School, a time in which Mrs. Vaughn said Mrs. Regen impacted her son’s life and helped shape him into the hero he became.
