Sara Olds, an Alpha Omicron Pi sorority member from the University of Tennessee at Martin, helped clean cars. The Hope for Hudson event also included a spaghetti supper, an auction and face painting by members of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority at UTM. One of the organizers of the event, Karen Petty, told The Messenger today money is still coming in, but she estimated the fundraiser raised more than $10,000. Hudson Hayes is the son of Scottie and Michelle Hayes and is fighting undiagnosed medical conditions. “It’s just so much,” an overwhelmed Mrs. Hayes told The Messenger today. “I’d like to thank Troy First Baptist Church first and foremost … and all the businesses for their donations and the individuals. I just want to thank everybody.” She described the event as a “huge success.” | | | | |
