Tommy Potter

Mr. Thomas Melvin “Tommy” Potter, 69, of Union City passed away Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at The Waters of Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted noon Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Chip Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Fremont Cemetery near Union City.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.
Pallbearers will be Michael McKee, Austin Morris, Steve Johnson, Russell Bardin, Tim Bishop and Brian Hale.
Tommy was born March 19, 1956, in Ypsilanti, Mich., son of the late Erin Goble and Mary Etta (James) Potter. He had been employed in the body shop at Tom Taylor Chevrolet and retired as a truck driver for Tennessee Steel Haulers. Tommy enjoyed riding his Harley, drag racing, participating in benefit rides for children’s organizations and playing Santa Claus at Christmas.
He is survived by one daughter, Brandy Morris (Jeff); one stepson, Dillon Potter of Austin, Texas; one stepdaughter, Malori Staggs (Justin) of Kennett, Mo.; two sisters, Sue Ann Hedges of Union City and Sherry Mae Bardin of Troy; three brothers, James Potter of Hollow Rock, Randall Potter (Sandra) of Rock Hill, S.C., and Teddy Potter of Union City; three grandchildren, Austin Morris (Emmalee) and Katie Newton (Colt), all of South Fulton; and Zach Morris of Union City; and four great-grandchildren, Jackson Morris, Remington Morris, River Morris and Harlee Morris.
He was also preceded in death by one stepson, Lance Sutton; one great-grandson, Casyn Morris; and one great-granddaughter, Lainey Morris.
