John Guy
John Douglas Guy, 71 of Union City passed away Monday, July 7, 2025, at Hillview Community Living Center in Dresden.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025, at White-Mahon Funeral Home, with Bro. Truitt Cockrell officiating. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. and run until the time of service at the funeral home.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. John was born on Feb. 2, 1954, in Ypsilanti, Mich., to the late W.J. Guy and the late Helen Louise Caldwell Guy. In 1990, he married Cathi Coleman Guy. She preceded him in death in 2011. He then married Shavaunne Groh Guy in 2012. She survives. He worked as an IT Manager for the Tennessee Department of Safety for 32 years. He finally retired to enjoy life in 2016.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Steven Cochrum of Union City; two sons, John Guy Jr. of Martin and Jacob Guy of Scott Air Force Base; his sister and brother-in-law, Marcie and Sammy Morris of Rives; his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Patty Guy of Union City; his three stepchildren, Tina McIntosh of Springfield, Mo., David (Gina) McIntosh of Troy and David (Jessica) Adams of Rockvale; his six grandchildren, Coleman Guy, Cora Cochrum, John Guy III, Kris Guy, Killian Adams and Zora Adams; one great-grandchild, Finn Guy; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to is previous wife and parents, Mr. John was preceded in death by his son, William J. Guy; granddaughter, Izzy Guy; sister, Mary Jean Allen; and his son, Jason Bradshaw.
