BEAUTIFYING UNION CITY — LeEllen Smith (left) and her daughter, Micah Smith, of Union City were among the more than 40 volunteers who showed up at Merchants Park in downtown Union City on Saturday morning to help beautify the area during an effort hosted by Main Street Union City. Groups were divided into sections of downtown to focus on their cleaning efforts and worked as a team, quickly and efficiently. Tasks included picking up trash and pulling weeds out of the flower beds and sidewalks, as well as planting flowers in the downtown planters on First Street.
