MILITARY LESSON — David Cloar of Dyersburg, originally from Hornbeak, explained to 7-year-old Luke Gilles of Medford, Wis., about the weaponry which was used during the Civil War by the 7th Tennessee Calvary. Cloar was just one of the reenactors who participated in Discovery Park of America’s annual Military Expo on Friday and Saturday. Both days, attendees experienced military reenactments, vehicle and equipment displays and presentations by special guests. Several military vehicles, including a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter, were also on display. Gilles is the son of Travis and Amy Gilles. Their family was visiting northwest Tennessee while on spring break.
