Betty Cagle
Mrs. Betty Cagle, age 93, of Hickman, Ky., passed away Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, at the Obion County Nursing Home near Union City.
Mrs. Cagle was born in Hickman on Oct. 1, 1930, to the late Ezra Anderson and Mae Stowe Anderson. She was married to the late Wayne Cagle.
Mrs. Cagle was employed as a Secretary for the Kentucky Farm Bureau office in Fulton County, Ky., for several years. Mrs. Cagle was a graduate of Hickman High School. She was a member of West Baptist Church in Hickman and was affectionately known to many of the area youth simply as “meme.”
She is survived by two daughters, Teana (Wayne) Braden of Hermitage and Becky (Kyle) Russell of Troy; three granddaughters, Kristi (Tony) Bales of Mt. Juliet, Niki Luckhardt of Woodbridge, Va., and Leigha Ellingburg of Hickman; one grandson, Daryl (Deanna) Braden of Hermitage; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson-in-law, Brad Ellingburg; three sisters; and one brother.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cagle were held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Hickman, located at 903 Broadway. Burial followed in Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation was held at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Hickman on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
The family requests memorials be made to West Hickman Baptist Church.
