Walter ‘Jr.’ Bequette
Mr. Walter “Jr.” Bequette, 79, of Martin passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.
Jr. was born in Fulton on July 26, 1943, to the late Walter Bequette, Sr. and Elsie (Tucker) Bequette. He was a retired maintenance mechanic for General Tire and owner of Bequette’s Refinishing & Antiques, where he refinished and sold antiques. Jr. was a faithful member of Bible Union Baptist Church and had lived in this area all of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Bequette of Martin; two daughters, Cindy Brundige (David) of South Fulton and Christy Snow (Mike) of South Fulton; a stepdaughter, DoRann Moore of Martin; six grandchildren, David Kent Brundige of Huntsville, Ala., Jenny Beth Brundige of South Fulton, Elizabeth Collett (Kris) of Columbia, Brandon Snow (Andria) of Witchita, Kansas, Alayna Snow of South Fulton and Sydney Maloney (Spenser) of Troy; two great-grandchildren, Jameson Collett and Adalynn Collett of Columbia; and one step-great-grandchild, Tessa Maloney of Troy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Freda (Kent) Bequette; and a brother, Bobby Bequette.
Memorial services were held 4 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2023, at Bible Union Baptist Church in Martin. Visitation was held at the church from 2 p.m. until the hour of service.
