Dresden woman airlifted after crashing into Subway

On Saturday, April 15, Dresden Police Chief Bryan Chandler was dispatched to a single vehicle crash at Subway. When Chandler arrived on the scene and made contact with the driver, Dresden resident Patricia Grimm, her vehicle was located inside the building that housed the Subway restaurant.
The vehicle had crashed into the front window, Grimm was in distress and advised that she was hurting in the neck and back area, along with her legs.
Grimm was unaware of what had happened and just remembered waking up inside of Subway.
Grimm was trapped inside the vehicle and extrication was required which was completed by the Dresden Fire Department, Weakley County Rescue Squad and Weakley County Ambulance Service.
Grimm was wearing a seatbelt and multiple airbags did deploy. She was transported to a landing zone and was flown out to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Chandler said that it was unknown if she had a medical situation that caused the crash.
The crash caused substantial damages to the building. Dresden Police Department investigated the crash with assistance from the Weakley County Sheriff’s Office, Dresden Fire Department, Weakley County Rescue Squad and Weakley County Ambulance Service.
